FP1131 – Salty Textures

The Western Australian landscape rarely disappoints, and the mined salt ponds around the coastal Pilbara towns are no exception. Here, a stretch of barren ground shaped over time by evaporation and industry, meets the natural colours of the earth to create a canvas of pale tones and rich earthy textures. Matched with the subtle wheel tracks of machinery tracing gentle lines across the surface of the empty salt pond, is the quiet human imprint  of a track carved into the red dirt, creating an otherwise desolate scene.
